My artistic journey began in the beautiful land of New Zealand, dominated by the vast skies and ocean. In New Zealand, I met the birds, the whales and dolphins that brought inspiration. This is also where I started to learn about beauty and how to express this in my work. 

Wildlife paintings

Discover the birds of the southern ocean and the North Sea in my wildlife paintings

An albatross encounter at the beach in Tarakena bay inspired me to take up drawing lessons. Back in the Netherlands I mainly encounter seagulls, and what they lack in wingspan, they make up in cheekiness.

Experience the sea, the dunes and the beaches in my seascape paintings

I was born near the sea and the Dutch beaches and endless skies never cease to inspire me.

I started drawing later in life but ever since I have been eager to capture many subjects, indoors and outdoors. 

Plein air painting

This section provides an impression of my artistic life outdoors.

Nature is best discovered outside, so I take my easle, brushes and paints outside as often as I can. You can often see me cycling or hiking packed with my easle and supplies.
